Are you stuck in a communication rut?
As human beings we often put people in boxes as it helps us to organise and make sense of our world, we also put ourselves in boxes. This starts within families and at school where children are often described as:
The clever one
The gentle one
The sporty one
The sensible one
The determined one
The funny one
The naughty one
The kind one
These labels stick and can form a strong part of our identity. However we can jump between boxes and straddle boxes, we can be gentle AND determined. These identities often drive our communication style.
As we mature it’s easy to get stuck in a box and limit ourselves, so it’s important to explore other options, choose the right approach for our current context, what we’re trying to achieve and what is going to have the impact we’re aiming for. We can flex our communication style which builds confidence and impact.
The Assertiveness model is a simple yet powerful framework that unlocks new approaches. In my live workshop you will be able to reflect on habits you have formed that may be getting in the way of you having the impact you want. You will gain the clarity to make subtle shifts to your communication style and have the opportunity to experiment with these new tools.
Group learning is the ideal way to engage with Assertiveness and to refresh and reset your communications skills.
